Macros, Scripts, Addons Etc. Explained (World of Warcraft allakhazam)

This is a post that tries to explain the basic ideas behind and differences between terms like Macros, Scripts and AddOns to those who are either beginners to using such things or to making such things. All credits go to Legorol from the Hellscream server who posted this on the official Interface Customization bord.

Slash Commands
————————
To understand how everything else works, first it’s useful to know what a Slash Command is. WoW allows you to give simple commands to the game in the form of a slash (/) followed by the name of the command. You can give these commands directly by typing them into the chat box. An example would be the "/follow" command. If you target a friendly character and type "/follow" (without the quotes), you start following them. You can get a list of some of the slash commands by typing "/help".

Here is the official sticky the EU forum which gives the complete list of all slash commands:
http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-interface-en&t=7&p=1&tmp=1#post7

There are several types of slash commands, a lot of which you may already be familiar with (such as /1, /p, /g). Some are designed to perform game actions (e.g. /follow, /assist, /cast), others are chat related commands (e.g. /yell, /chatlist) or give you information (/who). You also have emotes (/laugh, /bow).

Finally, there is one very special slash command "/script", which I will explain later.

Macros
————–
The purpose of a Macro is to allow you to create some very simple custom actions or tasks, based on the existing game actions. A macro is just a sequence of slash commands, which are executed immediately and in order when you execute the macro. To create a new macro, either type "/macro" (without the quotes), or click on the speach bubble next to the chat box and select macro. You can then give a macro a name, an icon and type in a few lines of slash commands. The macro is created in the form of an action that you can drag onto your hotbar. You can activate the macro by clicking on the resulting button on the hotbar.

An example macro would be:
/cast Fireball(Rank 1)
/yell "I am frying it!"
This macro merely casts a fireball, and then yells for everyone to hear that you have done so.

Macros have some severe limitations, and are only intended for very very simple tasks.

FAQ:
Q: Can I cast two or more spells in a macro?
A: No. The most important limitation is that you can not cast more than one spell using a macro. This limitation is there so that macros can’t automate too much for you. You can have as many other commands within the 256 character limit as you like.

Q: Can I wait between commands in a macro?
A: No. There is no command for waiting or pausing in a macro.

Q: Can I make a macro that casts different spells?
A: Yes. It is perfectly possible to make a macro that casts a different spell each time you run it, perhaps cycling through a list of spells. The limitation is one spell cast per keypress or mouse click (i.e. one spell cast each time the macro is run), but that one spell can be different each time.

Scripts
————–
Usually, not just in WoW, the term Script refers to a short to medium length program, written in some kind of simple programming language (called a scripting language). The purpose of a script is usually to control another program.

World of Warcraft has a powerful programming language called Lua embedded inside it, which is used for scripting. What this means is that WoW is able to understand and execute little programs written in the Lua language. However, in WoW, a script is usually not something that you use by itself, i.e. you don’t just type in a script and execute it (although this is also possible). Instead, there are several places in WoW where you have the option to enter scripts as part of something else.

The kind of places that you can use a script in:
[li] /script [command] : If you type the slash command "/script" in the chat box, you can follow it with one or more valid Lua language statements (i.e. a script), separated by semi-colons (;).
[li] Macros: you can enter scripts as part of macros, by putting one or more "/script" command in your macro.
[li] User Interface modifications and AddOns: You can read more about these below, but the main point is that these are all created using Lua scripts (and also XML technology, but don’t worry about that right now).

In all the cases you can use scripts in, the things you can do with the scripts are the same.

So what can a script do? There are many resources on Lua scripts. Some of the links that are useful:
http://www.lua.org for an explanation of the language
http://www.wowwiki.com for reference material
The most important point however is that scripts are able to perform many more game actions than slash commands. This is done via a set of functions (called API or Application Programming Interface) that WoW makes available for use in scripts. Here is a link to a quite extensive list of all the API functions available for use in scripts:
http://www.wowwiki.com/World_of_Warcraft_API

After all that explanation, here is an example of a script. [/pre] if (IsPartyLeader()) then
CastSpellByName("Fireball(Rank 1");
end[/pre] This script is very simple. When you execute this script, if you are the party leader, then you cast a fireball. To use this script, you could do so for example via the "/script" command. E.g. you could type this: [/pre] /script if (IsPartyLeader()) then CastSpellByName("Fireball(Rank 1"); end[/pre] directly into the chat box. Or you could make that line part of a macro, so that it’s reusable.

In summary: a script in WoW is a short program written in the Lua language, able to interact with the game and perform game actions. You use a script by including it as part of something else, e.g. by putting it in a macro via the /script command, or by putting it in a UI Mod or AddOn.

User Interface Mods and AddOns:
————————————————
Blizzard has made the decision that the user interface of World of Warcraft is fully customizable, modifiable and extendable. This is completely legal, and is encouraged by Blizzard. A User Interface Modification (UI Mod for short) and AddOn is exactly the same thing, the difference is merely in their names. Usually Mods tend to refer to smaller things that only modify existing funcionality of the user interface, whereas AddOns tend to add extra functionality. From now-on I will collectively refer to anything that customizes the WoW UI as an AddOn.

AddOns are created using the Lua scripting language mentioned above, and XML technology. They are pretty powerful and can often do more than merely add fancy buttons and windows on your screen. I will not go into the gory details of how you create these, there are many excellent introductory guides around. Here is a link you will find useful if you are interested in more details:
http://www.wowwiki.com/Interface_Customization

From a user’s point of view, what you need to know is that AddOns come in the form of one or more text files, ending in the ".xml" and ".lua" extensions. These files are supposed to go into a folder called Interface in your World of Warcraft folder, or into one of it’s sub-folders. Usually AddOns are distributed as zip files by their authors, and you "install" them by simply unzipping them in your World of Warcraft folder. (If you don’t see an Interface folder, don’t worry. It is not there by default. If you want to put anything into it, you are free to create it yourself).

Warning: Be very very careful with AddOns that come as executable ".exe" files. Always triple-check before you use these to make sure that they really do what they say they do, as executable files can do anything whatsoever to your computer. AddOns are supposed to be written in text format in .xml and .lua files, so that anyone can check that there is nothing malicious about them. You have no such check available with executable files. Also, since AddOns only operate within WoW, they can’t harm your computer, whereas executable files can.

Having said that, lot of authors distribute their AddOns as executable files. These executables most of the time don’t do more than just unzip the AddOn’s files and place them in your WoW folder in the appropriate places. Occasionally the executables are used to automatically download updated versions of the AddOn, or to upload data collected by the AddOn (for example item statistics to be put on a web-site etc.).

Installing: You usually install an AddOn by simply unzipping the file it came in into your World of Warcraft folder. Sometimes you have to copy the AddOn’s files into its place manually. Each AddOn lives in its own folder, and you should end up with a folder structure like this for each AddOn:
World of WarfratInterfaceAddOns<addon name>

Uninstalling: You can always uninstall any AddOn by deleting the AddOn’s folder. You can reset the WoW UI to its default state by deleting the World of WarcraftInterface folder.

Cosmos, CTMod, Gypsy, Nurfed and other AddOn packages:
———————————————————–
If you look around the forums a bit, you will see names like Cosmos, CTMod, Gypsy and Nurfed popping up. These are major AddOn packages that contain a large number of UI AddOns. Their authors (often working in teams) are respectable members of the WoW community who have worked hard to create useful (and sometimes not-so-useful) AddOns for your gaming pleasure, and have bundled them together into one easy-to-use package.

Feel free to use any and all of these packages. They are legal, Blizzard allows and encourages their use, although you won’t get technical support from Blizzard if something is wrong with them. There are many of these around, download and try a few of them and see if you like them. Usually the authors make these packages highly configurable so that you can adjust them to your needs.

Note: a lot of these major AddOn packages conflict with each other, so you won’t be able to use them together.

Standalone, pure AddOns, what’s so good about them?
—————————————————————
You will often see AddOn authors being proud of their AddOn being "standalone", or "pure addon". In the past, often AddOns modified existing UI functionality by changing something in the existing, core UI files provided by Blizzard. This has lead to conflicts as different AddOns all tried to modify the same file. A "pure addon" is one that does not modify any existing files, and merely adds its own files. This is a very good thing, because you can have any number of such AddOns happily coexisting side-by-side.

Also, a lot of AddOns depend on other AddOns for their operation. For example, most AddOns in the Cosmos package wouldn’t work by themselves, and need some of the core AddOns in the Cosmos package to be present to work. A "standalone" AddOn is one that is capable of working by itself, with nothing more than just that one AddOn being present. Again, this is a good thing, because it allows you to pick and choose just those exact AddOns that you want, without having anything you don’t want.

Having said that, from the point of view of an AddOn’s author, you will find that often a lot of AddOns do very similar sort of things. It is much more easy and quick for an AddOn author to create a new AddOn if they can rely on existing functionality in other AddOns or some common core "libraries". That’s why there are AddOns out there that depend on things such as the "Sea" function library, which in itself is just a core AddOn. If you find an AddOn that requires some other core AddOn, don’t be afraid of it. Just make sure you also download the core AddOn.

Think of this as how a lot of games nowadays depend on DirectX on the PC. Game authors can write their games much quicker knowing that the user’s computer will provide them with the functionality they need in the form of DirectX. If you are happy about running games that require DirectX (such as WoW), you should also be happy about running AddOns that require other, common core addons.

Ways To Make Money From Upcoming Expansion (World of Warcraft talent)

More people will see this coming the sooner we get to the release date, and some items might not get sold.

As all know on alliance side "nature +damage gear" suck pretty much only druids can use them, they are sold for a low price on my (and most) servers.

However what if you buy all these cheap items and enchant them and put all of them on a nice buy out price yelling "now good enchanted shammy gear on ah" on the first day of the expansion.

Same goes for horde plate with spir+int (not as easy but still good ) buy/make enchant and wait.

All know many people (including me) spend loads of money on twinking. and you can bet some might already have the gear enchanted in an alts bank slot. (i have been planing on it but im lazy thus far)

However that takes time. and stats = less chance of dying, faster kills, less downtime.

To put it simply the expansion will bring the following.
LAG (as some old players will likely join in us again)

queue to get in on servers

A Load of new shammys/pallys created, some for guilds powergrinding, some for the fun of it.
some are lv slow 1-4h a day some grind 8+h a day.

All want low lv gear at start, then climb up as time goes. Remember not all have 2+ accounts like maniacs. Therefore they have to get help from a friend to trade gear from an alt they make, then find an enchanter, and perhaps get mats for it. = about 2-5 min if "pre-planned with friend"

AH takes like 30s run

"But mail boxes…well there is a delay usually i receive a mail in 30min-1h that, unless its gold."

Players are lazy…really lazy they will happly play loads to get good special class gear.
(im not talking about the powerful 30+spell damage on a lv 15 item and demand 200g, fast but still)
——————————————-
Alchemist, you might also make some gold arcane elixir, armor pot, anything to help with dps and prevent dying. just try and up server prices for a few days/ weeks from release.
——————————————-
Blacksmith, some sharpening stones, fresh weapons on ah
——————————————-
Leather working, very nice with gear for shammys the first 39 lvs
——————————————-
Engineering….sell loads of bombs but that might be a bit expensive
——————————————-
Any gathering may experience a new flux in the AH on all mats as some/alot will whant to lv up there new profession (unless every single person takes jewelcrafting.)

Pissing people off using Onyxia! (Warcraft strategy)

In Stormwind Keep, when the quest (where Onyxia is confronted) is being ‘played’; wait for Onyxia to respond to what that knight guy says, press the right mousebutton on her (yea, to speak with her) and she’ll stop the enteraction with the quest.

She’ll then just stand there for around 10 minutes, without continueing the quest.

I’ve done this 3 times on the EU Dragonmaw server, and each time, people gets pissed ’cause they think they’re failing the quest, or complaining about it being bugged.. I, however, laugh the socks off each time, ’cause people reactions are hilarious.

So, try it out..
.. and piss some people off!

Westfall Insta Spawn Insane Farming (World of Warcraft lag)

Yesterday my friend was using his Lev 60 hunter to help me run quests for a new char I am grinding. He took me to an amazing spot I hadn’t seen previously.

In the far Western shore/cliff there is a windmill surrounded by about 15 members of the local Derathi thieves guild. This is by no means unique in Westfall, however the amount of them are……and they all INSTA spawn after being looted. While I was running about killing boars and harvesters for a few quests he sat there and pelted these guys for about 20-30 minutes just to get linen cloth for the AH.

Lo and behold, after about 20 minutes he had 300 linen in his coiffers! So this little spot is SUPERB for low level 10-20 grinding, and also a great money maker at HIGH levels.

Let’s do the quick math on the linen for my pal. As of this morning stacks of 20 linen are selling for 50s on the Zul’Jin AH.

300/20 = 15 stacks

Now assuming he continued making that 300 linen in 20 minutes, multiply that by 3. 600 linen or 45 stacks. That’s 22 gold on the AH. Certainly nothing groundbreaking but for people at lower levels, or even higher levels who simply want no risk gold grinding.

The best part about this place is it is NON STOP. Literally NON STOP. Check it out, amazing stuff.

Leveling Grinding Areas For Lvl 19-22, 22-25, & 25-29ish (World of Warcraft mods)

(i know i psted this in the general forum.. but i think this is a good one.. people at low lvls need a plce to grind if they feel they want to.. and there wasnt anything on the forums for horders….)

Ok… well last night i posted asking for a good spot.. and it seems that noone had any good spots to reply with.. so i went out searching and came up with your grinding areas for 20-30. [I am a mage (tailor/enchanting) so i went looking for humaniods

(if the links dont let you get them.. i will try to get them up somewhere asap)

ONLY HORDE can use the silverpine and the barrens area... but the alliance can also use the HIGH place in STONETALON

[Grind Area Level 19-22] [Silverpine Forrest]
the first area that is just amazing for grinding and getting your linnen AND wool (both drop about the same amount) up then this is your first spot.. Once you hit 18 or 19.. (i didnt go till 20 so be careful at lower lvls)… head over towards the Undead City.. take the road that goes along the left side heading south into [Silverpine Forrest]… once you get there just take the road south… and keep going… you are going to go all the way till you are about to get into [Hillsbrad]..

Becareful if you are 18-19-20 lvl… along this road walk a 19 & a 20l guy… they walk with each other.. 1 is usually wizzard (lvl 20) and the other warrior (19)… and they aggro nicely…

now once you get up the road near Hillsbrad you will see that there are 2 roads that come together… if you didnt notice.. right before this.. there is a little tent and a BUNCH of guys walking around off to the left… its slaughter time… they are spread out enough where (as a mage) i could pretty much not aggro anyone… i STRONGLY suggest not going after the guys in the left side of the tent.. there are usually 3 wizzards there.. you might see 2.. but there is a 3rd one that is hiding behind the wagon.. just dont mess with them.. specially lower lvls…

here is a screenshot…

http://www.redutopia.com/black.php?image=10045

i suggest.. anytime you get 2 mages on you.. just run them out.. they have short follow distances…

i estimate about 1/3 drop either wool or linnen (and usually in a 2x stack)…. you will get on avg about 30 copper a kill.. and not get many green items.. i think i found like 10 in 3 hours or so i was there….

i would stay here till lvl 22 or maybe 23… i was gettign 80-105 exp per kill at 22 (80 for lvl 18′s 105 for lvl 20′s)… and i could run though them pretty dang fast at lvl 21-22…

—————————————————————-
[Grind Area Level 22-25ish] [South Barrens]
http://www.redutopia.com/black.php?image=10044

while running south.. at the green/yellow x i put on that map.. get the first quest from this guy here (i know u are grinding.. but you are killing the guys he wants you to kill.. so you get 2K exp for grinding extra

ok now that you got the quest.. head on down to the red circle… its a little mining area on the left last the hill that gose up to the hold. head on down… now.. u have to work your way ALL the way to the back…to kill a lvl 26 guy.. becare.. he is pretty hardcore… so just hangout and kill if u think u need to lvl up before you go after him…

if you are just killing guys…. this is your warning RIGHT HERE… BIG BOLD WARNING… these guys respawn REAL fast.. and they aggro from pretty long ranges sometimes.. so becareful.. if you fight your way to the back just killing for exp… watch your back.. makesur eyou dont get closed in by like 8 guys all around you getting ready to aggro.. that is just a HUGE waste of time… (its a long run from Camp T)

ok now taht you killed a lot of guys.. and you are lvl 23 or 24… go finish that quest at teh same guy if you havent already… now he will ask for 6 things of 3 differnt items… you get these from the guys up the hill at the keep/hold area… this is the blue area maked on the map….. go kill…. get the stuff.. go finish that quest (dame vguys yellow x) then he gives you dynomite.. run back to teh red area.. the first little tower you see.. on th etop is a plane.. run up to teh top.. and click on it.. blow it up.. go back for reward (ring!!) and exp…. then head back to teh Keep and grind your arse to 25ish….

————————————————————————————————
[Grind Area Level 22-25ish] [Stonetalon Mountains]
http://www.redutopia.com/black.php?image=10046

ok head on over to the Sun Rock Retreat (there is a fly path here so get it!!)

get the quest to kill blood stone harpes and slayers and somthings elses… (get it from teh guy to the right of the in when you walk into the city (i think he is a tauren)…

now head over the bridge and out the back way (red line on map) to the Charred Valley….

kill… dont be dumb.. there are LOTS AND LOTS of mobs here.. they go insane.. and chase you… their aggro area seems HUGE!!! so dont be dumb.. just kill everything.. to get to teh guys you need to… lvl up here a long time.. it worth it.. decent drops.. TONS of guys….

(sorry it kinda got weak at the end..i just got to this area and so i am still exploring it.. and trying to find the ins and outs of it…)

Easy Money Quest Items AQ20 (World of Warcraft private server)

Well this have to be done AFTER you clear instance with your guild. Since Blizzard did give 3 days reset time no mobs are respawned (almost none) and this give you oportunity to go inside and kill easy mobs like Silicate Feeder http://www.thottbot.com/?n=936773 who drops Idols, Scarabs and Larval Acid. Silicate Feeder are located near 5th boss (Ayamiss the Hunter) and can be soloed but watch not to pull flying packs or 2-3 Feeder.

Path to come to Ayamiss the Hunter room is Entrance > Genral Rajyxx room > Moam room > Ossirian the Unscarred room (watch for spawned mobs keep to the wall) > Stairs to Ayamiss the Hunter room

Next thing are Vile Scarab’s gray mobs located anywhere in AQ20 and respawned fast, they can drop Scarab coffer key which will allow you to open Scarab Coffer http://www.thottbot.com/?n=959084 and get some phat loot (note I only once got key it is really low % chance).

If you grind for quest items it is really nice loot and if you grind for money Idols on my server goes for 80g, Scarabs 20-30g.

NOTE: You have to be in raid to enter instance

EDITED:

Ruins Of Ahn’Qiraj Strats (World of Warcraft funny video)

This is a mix of all the information I could find on the net, and my own experience. I will update this guide as frequently as possible. All credits goes to the rightfully authors.

The Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj is an outdoor 20-player raid instance. It l use a similar loot system to Zul’Gurub, via tokens dropped from bosses which used to complete quests that give item rewards. Additionally, the quests can only be completed once a certain reputation has been reach with the Cenarion Hold (called Cenarion Circle in 1.8).
However, the tokens are labelled so players can tell which classes can use it. (In contrast, as of patch 1.8, Zul’Gurub has unlabelled tokens, called ‘paragons’).
Also, from information derived from wowguru.com (http://www.wowguru.com) it would seem that there are three piece sets to be gained from the token quests comprised of a ring, a cloak, and a weapon, with a set bonus for having all three.
The entrance to the Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, which is a 40-man raid instance intended to be the step after Blackwing Lair, is via a separate portal following the right path from the Scarab Wall gate.

Reputation for AQ20

You get 3 Cenarion Circle Reputation for Trash Mobs in AQ 20 till revered.
At revered you get 1/2 points per trash mob.

AQ20 Bosses Give 34 x 3 CC Rep and 34 Brood Reputation
Rajaxx encounter has extra reputation.

There are 7-8 trash mobs per wave, these are worth 3 points each.
Each Captain or Major is worth 30 points (through honored)
The usual 34×3 and 34 for Rajaxx
60 for every NPC who survives the fight.

Trash Mobs

For trash mob clearing the white wasps do this itch debuff that seems to do nothing but when that debuff fades you get another one that is really nasty that lasts for 30 seconds I think it was. I can’t remember if it was poison or disease off hand but we didn’t have any problems curing it.

The red wasps treat as surgers in Molten Core. They use random secondary targeting and charge someone in the raid doing 1K damage on the charge, then snap back onto the tank.

Choice is basically to kill the red first and take the debuffs or kill the two white ones first and let the red surge around. Basically the decision comes down to how good your casters are at getting the debuff off the raid.

Hive’Zara Stinger
Hive’Zara stingers hit for 3000 damage against someone afflicted with Hive’Zara Catalyst from Hive’Zara Wasps

Hive’Zara Wasp
Trash mob in Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj. Casts a multi targeted poison bolt that intitially causes an ‘itch’ debuff that has no negative consequences. After 8 seconds, the afflicted targeted gets poisoned with Hive’Zara Catalyst: Movement speed reduced by 50%, 146 damage every 2 seconds. Increased damage from Hive’Zara stings (from Hive’Zara Stingers
They can be rooted.

Kurinnaxx
Video of Kurinnaxx Fight: http://files.filefront.com/Kurinnaxx_0001wmv/;4445984;;/fileinfo.html

This is the first boss you have to kill i Ahn’Qiraj. He is a is a huge scorpion.

Abilities
Mortal Wound – Stackable Debuff on the MT that reduces healing by 10%. This is a cleave attack so it can hit multiple people in front of him.
Sandtrap – Random sandtraps spawn under player’s feet. If they fully erupt before the player can move they take 2000 damage, are silenced and have their chance to hit reduced by 80% for 30 seconds.
Enrage – at 20% health.
Summon – Can summon a player in combat to immediately in front of him. This includes players who died and ran back into the instance.

Strategy
The strategy for Kurinnaxx is to have 2-3 Warriors on him. One Warrior in the front of Kurinnaxx. The Second Warrior on his left, and the Third Warrior on his right– by the ribs. Kurinnaxx makes sand traps that drops chance to hit by 75% and causes plenty of damage. The sand trap also silences casters for around 9 seconds — so stay out of range if by any chance someone gets aggro away from the tank. Move away as fast as you can before you get silenced by his trap. Rogues, watch how many debuffs are stacked on you, and use your vanish, and stay away. Anyone that gets 75% chance to hit, is useless anyway, so stay away so that you do not get damage. That will allow healers to conserve mana. Resume DPS when the effect is over.

Kurinnaxx also has some sort of cleave or mortal strike that stacks 10-15 times. This can be deadly for any tank. The idea of having one tank in the front, and two warriors on the side is that when the tank reaches 6 stacked-debuffs, he has to stop attacking immediately, and letting the other tank get the aggro. Make sure to make a macro in CAPS to alert the other two tanks that you are gonna let them take aggro. After 6 debuffs the Warrior will die so fast, no healer will be fast enough to cast Flash-heal. The macro also alerts all casters to stop attacking. Important. This is for the transition of aggro from Warrior to Warrior to get aggro.

Once the second tank gets aggro, make a macro for ASSIST so that casters can resume their DPS(Damage). As soon as the second warrior gets 6 stacked debuffs, stop attacking and let the third tank get aggro. Rinse and repeat. The whole raid needs to know their role and when to react based on these MACROS. Otherwise, you will get a wipe. This is a very long fight. Wear your mana regen gear if you are a healer and many stacks of Major Mana pots. Druids should provide Innervate on priests that ran out of mana.

General Rajaxx

Once you kill Kurinnaxx make sure no one talks to the Human NPC. Only the main tank is to talk to him, when everyone is in position and ready. The next fight is a triggered event that starts when you talk to the Human NPC. Rajaxx will yell: "The time of our retribution is at hand! Let darkness reign in the hearts of our enemies! No longer will we wait behind barred doors and walls of stone! No longer will our vengeance be denied! The dragons themselves will tremble before our wrath!.

General Rajaxx is an extremely long fight, so the only option for this battle is to conserve mana

Basically, waves and waves of Qiraji Warriors and flyers will keep pouring in. Once a wave dies, another is sent within only two seconds.

Wave 1: Center – Captain Qeez
Swarmguard Needler x2 – Qiraji Warrior x4

Wave 2: Left side – Captain Tuubid
Swarmguard Needler x3 – Qiraji Warrior x3

Wave 3: Right side – Captain Drenn
Swarmguard Needler x5 – Qiraji Warrior x1

Wave 4: Further left – Captain Xurrem
Swarmguard Needler x3 – Qiraji Warrior x3

Wave 5: Further right – Major Yeggeth
Swarmguard Needler x4 – Qiraji Warrior x2

Wave 6: Deep left side – Major Pakkon
Swarmguard Needler x4 – Qiraji Warrior x2

Wave 7: Deep right side – Colonel Zerran
Swarmguard Needler x3 – Qiraji Warrior x3

You need to drink in this short lapse of time if you can. Warlocks and Mages need to put a lot of DPS here on mobs. ALL Warlocks need to fear units constantly, and dot the main tank’s target while keeping a watch on the feared mob, to recast fear on them again and again. Druids can entangle-root mobs, and priests should use their Fear-2 mobs ability, hunters might get a chance to place traps in between waves. This orchestrated mob control will ensure the survival of all the 20 players, and keep you save from too much damage. Remember to dot the main tank’s target while fearing or entangling. Once it dies, move to the next target — rinse and repeat, until everyone is dead. Making the fight last longer by crowd controlling is good — in that lapse of time your healers and DPS casters are regenerating mana.

Once you’ve finished all the waves, General Rajaxx will make his way to you. Looking into his room, start running towards it and make a right as soon as you pass through the door way. If you’re a healer, this is a good place to stand. Generally, the MT needs to keep his back to a wall so when Rajaxx does his AoE knockback or MT knockback, he doesn’t go flying across the room and can easily restablish aggro

If you keep the 4 Kaldorei Warriors and Human healed, you won’t have much trouble. They have tons of hit points. The challenge is if you wipe and they die. They won’t respawn for at least two more hours, so you will be left on your own without the NPCs.

Once you’ve killed Rajaxx and the NPCs are still up. Give it some time and they despawn and give you 1000+ reputation with Cenarion Hold. You can also pull mobs to them and let them take care of business.

Buru the Gorger

Abilities
Eggs – When an egg is destroyed, it deals 100-500 damage to players based on their proximity to the egg. It also damage Buru the Gorger for 45000. A Hive Zara Hatchling will spawn from a broken egg.
Creeping Plague – Creeping Plague is activated when Buru the Gorger has less than 20% life. This debuff hit everyone in the raid. It deals 80 damage per tick and continuously stacks up every 3 ticks. When Buru is destroyed, the debuff fades from everyone.

Strategy

One thing that’s extremely useful against this boss is Greater Nature Protection Potions. Pass them out to all raid members and wait for phase 2 before consuming.
This boss fight is divided into two phases: Phase 1 is where you’re destroying eggs to break his shell off. Phase 2 is where you’re going all out DPS on him. I would also suggest players to use their Revered-boots from Arathi Basin Battlegrounds for this event. The Boots allow you to run a bit faster than normal.
Buru can’t be tanked at all by a Warrior, but walks very slow and can be kited(You can make him follow you while everyone ranges it).

Phase 1 is very straightforward. Players need to cause damage to the six eggs of Buru — but DO NOT destroy them. When the fight begins, Buru will start following a random person. The key here is to pull him near an egg and destroy it while he’s on top of it. Once the eggs have 5% hit points, spam on Raid chat "BRING HIM", to alert the runner to bring Buru and make him walk on top of the eggs. When a eggs is destroyed a broodling will usually pop out. Half the raid should focus on killing the broodlings, until they are dead, then assist in killing the eggs. Each time an egg is destroyed, he will focus on someone else. You can tell who he’s following by reading your chat. Always focus on taking two eggs at a time. Also, make sure you have a group taking out the elites that spawn from the eggs. If they build up on you they will more than likely kill your raid.

Phase 2 starts around 20%, Buru will start shaking and his shell will burst off. If you have any kind of Nature Protection Potion, now would be the time to use it. Elites will spawn so make sure you keep them feared while you’re going all out DPS on Buru. Everyone needs to jump in and just plow on damage after damage. The faster you get him down the easier it is on the raid.

Special thing to note: Buru won’t get aggro if you dot him or cast spells on him. He won’t stop chasing his target until it is dead, or becomes unreachable. You should make the font color of Raid Chat blueish or green — so that you can read the Warning message in orange. When Buru chooses to attack a specific player, you get a alert message onscreen saying that Buru is watching you.

Druids should be alert when they get Buru’s attention. They are quietly versatile to kite Buru. Turn into a Cheetah to run faster. When you need to enter the water, do not swim normally, or Buru will reach you, since your movement swimming is slower. Shapeshift into a seal quick and when you reach land, shapeshift once more into cheetah.

All healers must run behind Buru to heal the target. Buru won’t aggro if you heal the chased player.

Ayamiss the Hunter

Abilities

Fly – Ayamisss is airborne for the first 50% of his health. Cannot be meleed
Stinger Spray – 1000 nature damage to everyone in the raid. Approximately every 30s.
Hive’Zara Swarmer – Summon roughly 20 wasps in the air. These descend simultanously. Hit cloth for about 60.
Poison Stinger – 25 damage per second. Only used when Ayamiss is flying and only on the person with the most aggro. Stacks up to 100 times. Not used when Ayamiss descends.
Paralyze – Shackles a player on top of the altar. A yellow grub will spawn near the bottom of the altar and head towards that player. If the grub is not destroyed that grub will kill the player and spawn an elite wasp.

Strategy
The encounter with Ayamiss the Hunter is split into two phases: During phase 1 he is airborne and the fight is purely ranged. During phase 2 the battle is fought on the ground.
However, during both phases he does the same attacks. When the fight starts off, all the melee need to run near the base of the altar to focus on the grubs. Every once in a while, Ayamiss will teleport a random player to the middle of the altar. You can tell he’s about to sacrifice someone by seeing a streak of green shot to the altar. A grub will appear either on the left or right side, so melee need to kill it fast before it reaches the player. Otherwise, it’ll kill the player and spawn a powerful elite. Throughout the fight, Ayamiss shoots an AoE of nature damage that hits for about 1000. If you have any Nature Resistance, use it. Also, he spawns a large group of bugs that can be easily killed with a few AoE every so often.
During phase 1, Hunters (at least 2 or 3 would suffice) need to gather in the back and start to DPS him down. However, they need to watch for how many stings they have. Never go above 20 or healers will run dry quickly.
Around 50%, phase 2 begins and Ayamiss lands. He can be tanked practically anywhere. But a good choice is on top of the altar with the MTs back against the bordering mountain area. The rest of the battle is the same: only melee can jump in, but they still need to watch for grubs.

Ossirian the Unscarred

Strategy

The Pull
Rogues are pretty much useless in this fight therefore use a rogue to pull the boss to the middle of the room. The Rogue should be mounted, bodypull the boss, then head back to the middle and look for a crystal that will spawn. Two crystals will be spawned at all times throughout the room. After about 2 seconds, the boss will at this point buff himself; with the buff he can hit you for 13K damage, also when buffed, Ossirian moves pretty fast, faster than walking speed. When Ossirian is about 20 yards to the crystal, have a designated person click on the crystal to activate it. Note, the Main Tank should not aggro Ossirian til after the crystal puts the debuff on him, otherwise the MT will be one-shotted to death.

Activating the Crystals
Activating the crystal will put a 30 second debuff on Ossirian that make him hit for only 1K or so, less than than the 13K normally, and puts a vulnerability on him for specific spell damages. Put up detect magic on him and have someone call out his vulnerability. You will then have 30 seconds to pull Ossirian to the next crystal before his debuff runs out and one-shots the Main Tank.

Kiting Ossirian
The mounted Rogue would be responsible for calling out the next crystal to kite Ossirian to. A Druid or Shaman, or even a Paladin can be used to run ahead of the MT to the next crystal as the designated crystal activator, Druid/Shamans are preferred, since they can go in travel form towards the next crystal ahead of the main raid. The crystal activator can also be used to heal the MT just in case the MT runs away from the main group towards the next crystal and decurse since Ossirian has an AoE Curse of Tongues. You can kite Ossirian in a clockwise manner, and the crystals should spawn in a clockwise manner. It can also be done counter-clockwise. Some crystals spawns pretty close to each other, so the tank should just get to the next crystal, stay there for 10-15 seconds and let the rest of the raid catch up and do damage to Ossirian.

Ossirian Damages
When not debuffed, Ossirian hits for 13K, which is instant death. Highest priority is to continuously lure him to the crystals so he doesn’t get to this state. If he does, it’s likely a wipe. Otherwise Ossirian doesn’t hit that hard. However, he does have an AoE kickback that hits you for about 900HP and takes another 700 fall damage if you’re within about 10 yards. Therefore it’s wise to stay away from Ossirian and only have the MT/OT close to him.
The reason why an Offtank might be needed is because there are tornadoes that randomly spawn in the room. If you get caught in a tornado, you are stunned and take some heavy damage over time. The effect is magic and can be dispelled, but if the MT gets caught in the tornado, Ossirian will aggro someone else, which is why an OT is a good idea so he goes to the OT instead of someone squishy. Dispelling the MT quick enough can get aggro back to the MT, therefore, someone should be dedicated to dispelling the MT. Everyone else should also be ready to dispel any other party member that get caught up in the tornadoes.

Killing Ossirian
Ranged damage works best, since getting caught in the AoE knockback will cause healers to waste precious mana healing the raid. If you’re not a tank and you took damage, bandaging would help healers. DoTs also work very well, keeping DoTs on Ossirian – especially the one he is vulnerable to – will take him down. Ossirian doesn’t have a whole lot of HP, but since he is constantly kided to different locations, you don’t really have time to just sit there and DPS him down. The fight takes fairly long, about 6-8 minutes, maybe more, and if you die early, you can run right back to the fight. Just DotT and ranged attacks should be all you need to deplete his HP. No melee damage other than the MT/OTs.
